Buyers cancelled orders from 1064 RMG factories- BGMEA

Staff Reporter: Things are getting gloomier day by day for the ready made garment sector of Bangladesh due to this unexpected Corona Pandemic worldwide. So far the country’s 1064 RMG producers have lost their orders  from the buyers which is worth to USD 2.81 Billion.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) informed it through a press briefing on Wednesday.

BGMEA said, as all the shops, stores are closed, buyers and brands are cancelling orders one after another from 1064 factories (so far)  from where they sourced where more than 2 millions of workers are working.

President of BGMEA Dr. Rubana Huq said, “We have been in a very tough time due to constant cancellation and suspension of orders from the buyers and brands. We requested them to stay with us in this uncertain condition as always they had been in our good times”.
