Fire Broke out at a large Apparel Factory at Savar

Desk Report : A fire has broken out at a readymade garments factory in Ashulia, on the outskirts of capital Dhaka.

Ashulia police OC Abdul Awal said the fire started on the first floor of the six-storey Medlar Apparels Ltd factory at Narasinghapur around 8.30 PM on Saturday.

He said the flames have quickly spread throughout the whole building.

Firefighters from 12 stations including the ones at Ashulia, Savar, DEPZ and Tongi are working to bring the blaze under control, Awal added.

There have been no reports of casualties yet.

No factory officials were immediately available to confirm whether there were any workers inside the building.
