Six Alliance Factories Achieve Substantial CAP Completion; Operations Suspended in Seven Others

Staff Correspondent : The Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety announced today that six additional Alliance-affiliated factories have completed all material components outlined in their Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), bringing the total number of factories that have reached this milestone to 66.

The factories include Envoy Design Ltd, Envoy Fashion Ltd, Kenpark Bangladesh (PVT) Ltd, Manta Apparels Ltd, Mohara Asian Apparels Ltd and Youngone (CEPZ) Ltd (Extension Building).

“We commend these six factories for prioritizing remediation, and in doing so, achieving a substantially higher standard of workplace safety,” said Alliance Country Director Jim Moriarty. “When factories commit to continuous improvement, the profound change in Bangladesh’s garment industry shifts from possibility to reality.”

The Alliance also continued to uphold accountability measures for factories that failed to prioritize remediation. In February, seven new factories were suspended from the Alliance compliant list, bringing the total number of those suspended to 134.
