Garments Labour Leader Lucky arrested from Gazipur

Abir, Staff Correspondent : Labour Leader Tania khatun Lucky arrested from her home at borobari, Gazipur yesterday.

Joydevpur police station informed that Lucky has been arrested in response to a case filed by an officer of Dew Fashions against her. She was also the worker of the same factory. Mr. Aswadur Rahman, Sub-inspector of Joydevpur police station said that Lucky along with other workers physically harassed and snatched mobile phone and cash of Mr. Robiul Islam who is one of the officials of Dew Fashions Ltd. Later on Mr. Robiul Alam filed a case (No.126/02-16) against 30 workers by name and added some other unknown names.

He mentioned Tania Khatun as the number one in his case. “Garments Workers’ Trade Union Kendra informed through a statement that Lucky is their activists of Gazipur zone. Lucky was leading the ongoing workers movement against illegal shut down of the factory Dew Fashions Ltd. To make the initiative of today’s program in front of department of factories fail, Lucky been arrested.

Joly Talukder, the joint secretary of the same trade union asked to see Lucky free from arrest and called procession in the demand of free Lucky in front of Department of factories.
