Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh government has selected 176 business persons to appreciate them with the Commercially Important Person (CIP-export) status of the year 2018 for their noteworthy contribution to the country’s export trade.
The commerce ministry recently announced the names of the CIPs through a gazette notification, saying that the CIPs would enjoy some privileges from the government until the winners for 2019 are named.
138 business persons and 38 directors of the Federations of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) were designated for the status in the export category.
According to the gazette notification, the Commercially Important Persons will be able to use the cards as passes at the entry at the Bangladesh secretariat and they will also get a letter of introduction from the foreign ministry for getting a visa.
The CIP cardholders will enjoy various facilities, including priority in seat reservation at government transports in air, road, rail, and waterways for business purposes and getting invitations at national events.
