Washim Mia, Staff Reporter: 5 days long training on “SA 8000: Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course” held in Dhaka. The training started on 04 July 2018 and ended on 08 July 2018 with the written evaluation exam.
This training was facilitated by USA based non-profit organization, Social Accountability International (SAI), working for the human rights at work.
Mr. Abdul Alim, Lead Trainer and Bangladesh representative of SAI conducted the training participated by 18 delegates coming from different garment industries, buying houses, brands, NGOs and third party audit companies from home and abroad.
Mr. Alim said to the RMG Times, “Social Accountability International (SAI) is the non-profit organization working for the human rights at work. SAI established this SA 8000 international standard to ensure social accountability for the corporate as an international benchmark of social responsibility and SA 8000 is the first auditable standard of the world”.
“SAI has been facilitating such Social Accountability Auditor Training since 2003 which added a huge value for building local auditors instead of the auditors used to come from abroad to conduct different Code of Conduct audits for the facilities. Those who have keen interest to work with compliance audit should take part in this course because it provides an international recognition to them for being an auditor”.
