Washim Mia, Staff Reporter: Bangladesh Admin, HR, Compliance and Welfare Society (BAHCWS), an organization of some adventurous compliance professionals, organized a day- long training on ‘Higg Index 3.0 (FEM) and Implementation of Supporting Tools’ yesterday, 25th May 2018 in Dhaka.
Compliance has been the most significant issue in the RMG sector of Bangladesh for last couple of years. In this context, Environment has got a huge importance from the buyers and brands. Based on this, Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) developed this concept of Higg Index to ensure sustainability, well-being of the factory workers and importantly safety of the environment at large.
Some 57 delegates who are actually acting as HR, Admin, Compliance and Welfare professionals in different garments factories and other individual entities participated in the session.
The session was conducted by one of the emerging Higg specialists of the country Mohammad Wasiuzzaman Shohan, Manager-Sustainable Development Engineering (SDE), Engineering Resources International (ERI) Limited.
Thanking all, the Founder-Chairman of Bangladesh Admin, HR, Compliance and Welfare Society (BAHCWS), Mr. Kabinur Rahman Kabir stated, “BAHCWS is a group of some young, talented and enthusiastic compliance professionals of our country. We arrange this type of training in regular basis. Higg being the center of the time, we have arranged it to upgrade the level of skills the participants have and with the way we have got the response is absolutely phenomenal. This is the beginning, we have a long way to go. If everyone’s support is there, it is definitely possible for us to achieve our goal”.
The session once done, a presentation ceremony was also arranged by BAHCWS. In it, as a token of the moment, crests were handed over to the trainer and the Executive Committee (EC) members of the organization respectively. Certificate of Attendance was also handed over to each of the participants as well.
