‘Bangladesh will surpass China in terms of RMG export’-MA Mannan

Washim Mia: State Minister for the Ministry of Finance and Planning MA Mannan said, “In the near future, Bangladesh will be more innovative with our garments products and the country will improve its apparel quality and, at one point, it will surpass China, the biggest apparel exporter, in terms of RMG export”.

He made this remark while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 15th edition of a major machinery exhibition ‘Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition 2018’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on February 8, 2018.

The event was jointly organized by Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Company attended by the higher officials and other distinguished guests.

MA Mannan, who chaired the event as well, also said, “The apparel business in the mother of all industrialization. Bangladesh currently stands second in global apparel export next to China.”

Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) acting President Mohammad Ali Khokan stated in his speech, “There has been much improvement in the power sector but not enough for a large industry like RMG. We need more energy sources to support it. ”

The BTMEA Chief called upon Bangladesh Government for cordial assistance in industrial planning and overall cooperation to the blooming garment industry of the country, which occupies over 82 per cent of the country’s total export share.

A number of famous international brands are showcasing their machinery products in the fair. The exhibition will run till 11th of February 2018.
