Staff Correspondent: A private economic zone adviser team from China recently visited Bangladesh to analysis the economic and investment capacity around the country. The team consisting of six members from Linyi Fenglin Agricultural Manufacturing Company Limited and Linyi Shemmeng Import and Export Company Limited Led by Mr. Yang Fenglin-Economic Adviser to the Management Committee of Linyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone of the Communist Party of China on behalf of Chinese President Mr. Xi Ping under the project ‘One Belt One Road China’ congregated in a restaurant in Dhaka yesterday.
Md. Atik Sarkar, Assistant Director (Commercial)- Bangladesh investment board authority (BIDA) welcomed the delegation team and committed to assist in their way forward to implement the new project here in Bangladesh.
To the honor of Mr. Yang Fenglin, Mr. Rasheduzzaman-Chairman of MRF Group, arranged a dinner party last night and discussed about Private economic zone set up with Chinese Entrepreneurs on the northern part of Bangladesh. Mr. Mehedi Hasan, Bangladesh Representative of Linyi Shenmeng Import Export Trading Company Limited (An Initiative of President Xi Ping under One Belt One Road) also attended the dinner party.
During this visit, the team visited several places in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rangpur to find the suitable place for their first initiative China Town-Dhaka and the second set up is an ‘A’ grade ceramics industry & home appliances set up in the north side of Bangladesh. Initially they have chosen 35 acres of land for Ceramics & Home Appliances industry.
Mr. Rasheduzzaman-Chairman of MRF Group upheld his view point about this joint venture from the prospective of Bangladesh. He said, “To achieve our vision 2021, industrial privatization is one of the most important tools and, to be very frank, the present government of Bangladesh is Investment friendly government”.
“If I can contribute to the national economy, with collaboration of China by setting up a private economic zone here in Bangladesh, it will be my lifetime achievement. Next ten years for Bangladesh economy is very significant and sensitive time as lot of foreign investments are in the list already”, Mr. Rashed added.
He requested to concern authority of Bangladesh Government to make sure the all service up to the mark, so that a foreign investor can feel secure and safe during his business tenure in Bangladesh.
He expressed his gratitude to the delegation team to be positive for investing here and thanked the local Government for their continuous improvement and providing the one stop service for the entrepreneurs.
