LEED Platinum Glory of Team Group

Staff Reporter: Team Group is one of most uttered names in the RMG Industry of Bangladesh nowadays. They count people and planet prior to the profit. Not only in RMG Industry, but Team Group has also pasted their footmark in other sectors as well. Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate, Information Technologies and more. They are consuming energy efficiently and using environmental resources in the most sensible way possible. As the recognition of their performance towards energy and environment, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd has been recognized with ‘LEED Platinum’ by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd., member factories of Team Group, is one of very few LEED Platinum certified factories in Bangladesh. They have scored 83 out of 110 to get the prestigious recognition.

Through a virtual event organized on 28 February 2022 at the Head Office of Team Group, USGBC officially handed over this certificate to 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd.

Mr. Mahendra Jayalatah, LEED consultant from Sri Lanka, handed over the LEED Platinum Certificate to Mr. Abdullah Hil Rakib, Managing Director- Team Group while Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, General Manager- Team Group, was also present.

Mr. Abdullah Hil Rakib conveyed his gratitude to  USGBC-GBCI, EnergySolve International and his team for this remarkable achievement . He said, ‘Green is part of sustainability especially  for our upcoming generation’s livelihood. We have a plan to make our other factories to be LEED certified by 2025’.

According to BGMEA, this is first Platinum rated factory of the year 2022. Bangladesh has touched the milestone of having 157 US Green Building Council’s LEED certified Green apparel factories, the highest among any country.
