Staff Correspondent: A job fair will be held at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on 18 March to provide job opportunities for those who have completed training under BGMEA-SEIP project.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman made the announcement at a press conference at BGMEA office on 16 March where BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir and BGMEA Directors were present.
Around 40 RMG factories will take part in the job fair to recruit employees through spot interviews from more than one thousand worker-level and mid-level trainees, he informed the media.
Under the auspices of the Finance Ministry and with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), BGMEA is implementing Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) project to develop skills of around 44 thousands workers and mid-level employees in ready-made garment industry in three years by providing them training.
The BGMEA President said that the BGMEA-SEIP project has already provided training to around 20 thousands trainees through 50 public and private training centers in 35 districts in the country. Among them around 10 thousands trainees were provided with jobs in different garment factories, he added.
