SA8000:2014 Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course Successfully Held in Dhaka

Matin Kabir, Staff Reporter: A five-day-long training program titled “SA8000:2014 Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course” was successfully held in Dhaka, beginning on April 07  and concluding with an online written examination on April 11, 2025. The training was organized by Social Accountability International (SAI), a USA-based non-profit organization and the developer of the globally recognized SA8000 Standard.

Seventeen participants from various garment industries, buying houses, factories, and third-party audit firms took part in this intensive course. The sessions were led by Mr. Abdul Alim, Lead Trainer and SAI’s official representative in Bangladesh.

Speaking to The RMG Times, Mr. Abdul Alim said, “The SA8000:2014 Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course has gained immense popularity worldwide. It is important for compliance professionals and auditors who wish to work with export-oriented industries to complete this training. The course not only equips them with in-depth knowledge but also offers international recognition as qualified auditors.”

The SA8000:2014 course provides a comprehensive overview of social auditing practices, focusing on auditing in line with the SA8000 Standard. It is a mandatory component for all SA8000 Team Auditors and has been completed by thousands of professionals globally.

The successful completion of this training marks another step forward in strengthening social compliance practices within Bangladesh’s RMG sector and beyond.
