Matin Kabir, Staff Reporter: Dhaka, November 3, 2024 — The “SA 8000:2014 Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course” wrapped up successfully in Dhaka, following a comprehensive five-day program held from October 28 to November 1, 2024. The training concluded with an online written examination, marking the end of an intensive and informative learning experience for participants.

Organized by Social Accountability International (SAI), a leading USA-based non-profit dedicated to the development of the SA8000 standard, the training was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Abdul Alim, the Lead Trainer and Bangladesh representative of SAI.

A total of eighteen delegates took part, representing a diverse range of sectors, including garment industries, buying houses, factories, and third-party audit firms. This training aimed to equip professionals with the vital knowledge and skills necessary for conducting social audits in line with the SA8000:2014 Standard.

In an interview with RMG Times, Mr. Abdul Alim emphasized the significance of the training, stating, “The five-day training on the SA 8000 standard has gained immense popularity worldwide. It is crucial for auditors to complete this training to effectively assess compliance in export-oriented garment industries and factories. Those with a keen interest in compliance audits should consider this course, as it offers international recognition as auditors.”

The SA8000:2014 Introduction and Basic Auditor Training Course provides a thorough overview of social auditing, specifically tailored to align with the SA8000:2014 Standard. As a prerequisite for all SA8000 Team Auditors, this course has been attended by thousands of professionals globally, highlighting its critical role and widespread acceptance within the industry.
