Chinese company investing $12.2m at Adamjee EPZ to set up accessories unit

Chinese company Cherry Button Limited is going to set up a garments accessories manufacturing unit in Adamjee EPZ with an investment of US$ 12.2 million.

According to a report published by BSS, the company signed an agreement to this end with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) at BEPZA Complex in the city on 12 September.

Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Ali Reza Mazid and Chairman of Cherry Button Limited MA Miaoyan (Jasika) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations where Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Executive Chairman of BEPZA was present.

This fully foreign owned company will produce 1650 million pieces of metal button, plastic button, metal zipper, vislon zipper, nylon coil zipper and other accessories like eyelet, rivet, stopper, badge, buckle, and suspender buckle a year.

The company will create job opportunity for 1,068 Bangladeshi nationals.

Member (Finance) Nafisa Banu and Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain of BEPZA were present at the signing ceremony.

This investment will help Bangladesh’s apparel exporters to get quick supply of high-end accessories.
