Fibre2Fashion: Bangladesh foreign minister AK Abdul Momen recently requested his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi in Jakarta to ease market access for the former’s readymade garment (RMG) products in the latter.
Dissatisfied over bilateral trade volume surpassing the $3 billion mark, Momen noted the stark imbalance between Bangladesh’s import and export volumes.
He hoped that a bilateral preferential trade agreement would be finalized soon.
The two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the energy sector that aims at promoting the long-term sale and delivery of conventional forms of energy to and developing new and renewable energy sources and power plants in Bangladesh.
Another MoU was also signed in agricultural cooperation that is intended to foster collaboration in producing, marketing, and promoting technology transfer and exchanging best practices, Bangladesh media reported.
